A new year presents new opportunities and a time to think about where we want our businesses to go.

We wish you a Happy New Year and hope 2021 goes better than 2020!  We are excited about the upcoming year and have quite a bit planned in the next few months.  Currently working with a great set of clients, we will be looking to expand our client portfolio to help more small businesses with Government Contracting (GoVCon).  We are also putting together some resources (templates, videos, guides, etc.) that will be available to everyone in order to provide organizations with additional tools to make the contracting process easier.

With the start of a new year and new beginnings, it’s time to think about where your business is going in 2021.  Reviewing business plans and goals are always a good idea at the start of a new year.  It could be time to look at new revenue streams or maybe even a new market or product launch.  Maybe your goal is to scale your business and you’re not quite sure how.

Given the volatile economic climate of 2020 and a potential repeat in 2021, a lot of companies are looking for steady income where they can maintain their revenue or at least cover their payroll.  One solution to these issues are Federal Contracts.  Have you considered venturing into the GovCon world?  Let’s explore some benefits of getting into this space:

  • CONSISTANT, LONG-TERM REVENUE.  Most federal service contracts are structured as 1 year work scopes with 4, 1-year options.  This means that the initial award is 12 months and the Government has an option to renew the work for another 12 months, up to 4 times.  Simply said, this is a 5 year deal as long as you meet requirements and perform to the customer’s satisfaction. 
  • “RECESSION PROOF” INCOME.  Many companies see a reduction in revenue during a recession when consumer spending is down.  The Federal Government, however, still needs goods and services to fulfill its mission despite economic conditions.  This generally means that Government spending won’t fluctuate significantly with a changing economy.
  • COVER PAYROLL.  You may be in a situation where you may have to lay off employees because there isn’t enough work to keep them employed.  A Government contract can change that and keep your employees busy while providing goods and services in a new market.
  • ADDS CREDIBILITY TO YOUR PORTFOLIO.  Landing a lucrative contract with the Government adds credibility to your firm.  The award selection process is fairly rigorous, so those who find themselves with an award have proven their ability to perform above their peers and provide the customer with what they need.
